Came across this quote in an introductory text recently, “The crust is so thin it would be impossible to see it any whole-Earth drawing shown to scale.” As an inhabitant of the crust, and crustal geologist I respectfully disagree. Below is a drawing with a typical crustal thickness of 25 km shown at scale by the thickness of the black line.
